Transneft, KazTransOil sign final Druzhba compensation deal
ALMA-ATA, Dec 30 (PRIME) -- Kazakhstan’s pipeline operator KazTransOil and Russia’s Transneft have signed final compensation agreements for contamination of oil in the Druzhba pipeline to Kazakhstan’s oil companies, KazTransOil said in a report on Monday.
“As a part of the incident settlement related to contamination in April–May 2019 of about 699,000 tonnes of crude oil shipped by 38 Kazakhstani oil companies via the Druzhba trunk oil pipeline system, KazTransOil, acting on behalf of those companies, signed agreements with Transneft to pay compensation for substandard oil to the remaining six Kazakhstani oil companies,” the company said.
The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Europe across Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline appeared in April. Good-quality oil deliveries resumed in early May. Transneft earlier paid compensations to 32 oil companies of Kazakhstan.
